is it possible to remove a negative information (about a company) from google (page 1) without using some techniques like paying false bloggers to high rank a positive information (eg website...) which is not fair game...?

ask google they are pretty fast for deletion!

There can be several reasons to remove a page from Google index. If you’re reading this post, you already know your reason to remove a page from Google index. In general, a few reasons for removing a page from Google index include -

  • You published a page, which contains sensitive data and you want it removed.
  • You published duplicate content, which you’ve been asked to remove.
  • etc

You can use Google Webmaster Tools to remove your page from Google index. But first, you must claim that website in Google Webmaster Tools to show Google that you’re the website owner. To do this, you need a Google Account. Then, log into Google Webmaster Tools and “add your site”. Then, you’ll need to click on the “verify your site” and you’ll be asked to either add a file to your website or add a meta tag to your site. Once you’ve added the meta tag or added the file, Google is able to verify and confirm that you’re the owner of the website.

Once your website is verified in Google Webmaster Tools, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Select the website, whose page you’d like to remove.
  2. Click on “Site Configuration” then “Crawler Access” and then “Remove URL” as shown below.
  3. Provide the URL of the page you’d like to be removed.

Once you provide the URL of the page to be removed, you’ll be asked a reason for removal and you’ll have 3 options :

  1. Remove page from search results and cache
  2. Remove page from cache only
  3. Remove from directory

Remember, for permanent removal, the page must return a 404/410, or be blocked from search engines i.e. you should either delete the page or unindex (add no index tag) the page. Also, you should remove all the links to the page.
