Razorfish has released a report this week about brands and their online reputation rate when it comes to social media marketing, entitled
Fluent: The Razorfish Social Influence Marketing Report. In order to explain in which ways social media marketing is currently impacting consumer relations, Razorfish conceived the
SIM Score (goes for Social Influence Marketing), which is calculated this way :
- Net Sentiment = (Positive + Neutral Conversations – Negative Conversations) / Total Conversation
- Sim Score = Net Sentiment for the Brand / Net Sentiment for the Industry

The SIM Score provides
interesting metrics enabling brand to easily gauge where they stand in the landscape of social media marketing, although aggregating positive+neutral conversations is a bit surprising as it doesn't mean the same in terms of sentiment analysis.
